Catania
Arrival and transfer to the hotel in Catania. Welcome and briefing session with our tour guide. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Catania - Cefalu - Palermo
Breakfast. Visit the historical center of Catania, whose baroque style has been declared a world Heritage site by UNESCO. Innumerable riches built with volcanic rocks. The journey will leave you breathless by taking you to the most interesting and surprising sites of the city, such as the spectacular "Piazza del Duomo", with its splendid cathedral and with his stone elephant, symbol of the city. Lunch. Transfer to Cefalù, a beautiful coastal village with a stunning view on the Mediterranean sea, with its imposing norman cathedral. Walk through the downtown streets and a possibility to visit the famous Museum Mandralisca. Transfer to Palermo. Dinner and accommodation.
Palermo - Monreale - Marsala
Breakfast. In the morning, we will discover the wonderful treasures of Palermo. Its long history has given us a remarkable artistic and architectural heritage of different cultures. Surprise in the Typical Focacceria S. Francesco. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon we will arrive at Monreale with its magnificent arab-norman cathedral and its beautiful Cloister, defined as the eighth wonder of the world. Transfer to Marsala, where Garibaldi landed in may 1860, and visit to a prestigious wine cellar with wine tasting. Dinner and accommodation.
Marsala - Route Of The Salt, Marsala, Selinunte - Agrigento
Breakfast. Short visit of the city of Marsala. We will continue with a tour along the Route of the Salt: we will enjoy the beauty of the salt flats that extend between the coast of Trapani and Marsala. Then, we will drive to Selinunte, where we will enjoy its archaeological park, the largest in the Mediterranean. Transfer to Agrigento and visit of the "Valle dei Templi", where among the trees of almonds stand the remains of the ancient city of Akragas, called by Pindaro "the most beautiful city of the humans." Dinner and accommodation.
Agrigento - Piazza Armerina Ragusa - Modica
Breakfast. We will continue to Piazza Armerina to visit its splendid Villa Romana del Casale, considered a Heritage site by UNESCO. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will discover Ragusa Ibla with its beautiful churches and palaces of the baroque style and the garden of Iblea. Transfer to Modica to admire its beautiful architectural treasures. We will conclude with a visit to one of the most recognized manufacturers of chocolate in the area, where we will observe all stages of the production of the "nectar of the gods" and taste the delicious local chocolate, which is still made by the recipe of the ancient Aztecs. Dinner and accommodation.
Noto - Siracusa - Catania
Breakfast. Transfer to Noto, the baroque sicilian capital, called the "garden of stone", with its beautiful buildings in the style of the eighteenth century and considered world Heritage site by the UNESCO. We will visit the historical center and then enjoy the wonderful Palazzo Nicolaci. Then to Syracuse, where, after a free time for lunch, we will visit the most beautiful and powerful Greek colony in Sicily, with its archaeological park of Neapolis, where you can admire the Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, Latomias of Paradise and the Ear of Dionysius. The tour ends with the historic centre of Ortigia, where you can enjoy the Piazza Duomo and the famous Fountain of Arethusa. Transfer to Catania for dinner and overnight at hotel.
Mount Etna - Taormina - Catania
Breakfast. An excursion to the Mount Etna, the active volcano, the highest in Europe, declared a world Heritage site by UNESCO. You will arrive to the "Crateri Silvestri", extinct volcanic cones surrounded by lava flows. Then, visit to a company that produces honey and to a rustic wine cellar with tasting of honey and exploring the typical products of the area. Departure to Taormina, picturesque village with a wonderful view over the sea and mount Etna, famous for its natural landscapes and seascapes. Lunch in a typical restaurant, where you will be able to attend a cooking show with dishes of the sicilian culinary tradition. Free time for a stroll through its narrow streets to buy typical handicrafts. Before returning to the Hotel, short tour on the Riviera of the Cyclopes. Return to the hotel in Catania. Dinner and accommodation.
